General and specific objectives of the project

The general objective of the project is the use of magnetic nanowires, obtained by chemical electrodeposion, for obtaining sensors and microtransducers for electric , magnetic and mechanic quantities measurement, using the magnetotransport phenomena that develop in the nanowires.

The specific objectives follow the project schedule per stages, looking for the following aspects:

1) Study about the present state regarding the application possibilities of nanowires in measuring devices;

2) The production and the characterization of the nanowires to be used in applications, having in mind their structural and technologic particularities;

3) The theoretical and experimental modeling of the nanowires from the phenomenological and electrical point of view;

4) The optimization of the processes and methods of producing the nanowires, with the goal to get the maximum of efficiency (sensitivity, reproducibility, linearity) for the useful effects;

5) The design, simulation, achievement and testing of microtransducers having as sensitive elements magnetic nanowires, for measuring electric, magnetic or mechanic quantities as electric current, magnetic field, angle or proximity are.

6) The tracing of the characteristics of the realized microtransducer and their performance appreciation; the operation optimization;

7) The demonstration of the functionality of the devices created, by an workshop with participants from scientific, academic and industrial mediums , in order to identify potential beneficiary;

8) The results dissemination by publishing scientific articles in impact magazines, by a course module for students, by a web page and a presentation CD;

9) The intellectual property protection of the results through patents;

10) The development of cooperation with foreign partners in order to participate at international projects;

11) To bring young scientists in the research activities by creating technical and financial opportunities for PhD or diploma degrees.
