Nickel copper alloy nanowires were grown by template replication. Polycarbonate foils were irradiated with swift heavy ions. The ion tracks were etched in order to produce cylindrical pores with desired dimensions. Electrochemical deposition was employed for filling the pores with the alloy. For a given electrochemical bath containing both copper and nickel ions the deposition potential was used for determining the wires composition. Thus wires deposited at different deposition overpotentials therefore with different composition were characterised from the point of view of morphology, composition and magnetic properties. The influence of nanowire composition on the magnetic properties was analyzed.
